Manchester United footballer Tahith Chong is the fifth player to suffer trauma in the last few months due to the robbery of the apartment.
Island media report that the young player, who is on loan in Birmingham, was robbed on January 16 this year. He was at home in Sale, near Manchester, at the time of the robbery, while he was recovering from a groin injury. Three burglars with phantoms broke into the apartment around three in the morning while Chong was sleeping, they woke him up holding a knife blade under his neck.
They ordered him to hand over watches and other valuables. Police reports say that the burglars teased him because of the very bad security system, and that he was visibly shaken after all.
Police warned him that organized gangs followed his posts on social networks and concluded how wealthy he was.
In the last three months, Chong’s teammates, Paul Pogba, Victor Lindelof and Jesse Lingard, as well as Manchester City football player Joao Cancelo, have been robbed in a similar way in Manchester.
