His two goals saw Manchester United earn a point against Atalanta.
Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday night saw a showcase of the best of Cristiano Ronaldo, who simply described his participation as business as usual.
There is something about European nights that brings the best out of Ronaldo, and Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini is well aware of the Portuguese players abilities from his time at Juventus.
“Nine out of 10 of his shots are on target. Half of the time he shoots it goes in, the other half are saved by the goalkeeper,” Gasperini said after the draw.
The two embraced at the full-time whistle and the Atalanta boss was questioned about what was said between the two.
“I said something to him in Italian, but I can’t say it here on television. Basically, I said, ‘Come on, go for a walk’. Let him leave me alone,” joked Gasperini to Ronaldo after his late equaliser in Italy.
