Aleksandar Mitrovic has set a new record most goals scored in a Championship season, with 14 games remaining.
The Fulham striker put his side ahead against relegation-threatened Peterborough by scoring from the penalty spot in a 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage.
And with that goal, as well as the second he scored in the game, he has officially surpassed Brentford striker Ivan Toney’s prior goal total from last season.
He’s done it in just 30 games, leaving him 14 more to score goals and set an unbreakable record.
His three hat-tricks and six braces have contributed to his tally, which has been crucial in driving Fulham to the Championship’s top spot.
Mitrovic has had assists from players like Harry Wilson, Fabio Carvalho, and Neeskens Kebano all season, making it easy for him to find the back of the net at times.
The Serbian has always been a good scorer at this level, netting 26 goals in the 2019-20 Championship. He was crucial in the Cottagers’ promotion that season, and he could do it again this season.
